Battle With Prayers

Proverbs 24:29

Do not say, “I will do to him as he has done to me; I will pay the man back for what he has done.”

The other night, I woke up in the early hours unable to sleep. I found solace in prayer. Over the past two years, especially since marrying my wife, I have encountered hostility from social media critics. There was even a campaign to discredit me over a misunderstood post I made. Despite the negativity, I felt called to pray not only for those who support me but also for those who harbor ill intentions towards me and my family.

It is astonishing how boldly individuals online can attack, accuse, and castigate others from behind the shield of social media – often reflecting the very behaviors they condemn. While I once subscribed to a mindset of "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth," I have come to understand that true strength lies in forgiveness, as taught by Jesus. This does not necessarily require rekindling relationships with those who seek to harm us.

I have learned that while I know how to engage in worldly battles, the true conflict lies on a spiritual plane. With Jesus as my ally, victory is assured. To anyone who has faced similar challenges, I impart this encouragement: in the face of adversity, maintain composure and surrender your burdens to the Lord. Rather than subscribing to the notion of karma, I now understand the principle: "you reap what you sow." Those who sow malice will ultimately face the consequences of their actions. As they taste the bitterness of their own deeds, the sweetness of God's love, found in His word, may touch their hearts as it has mine. #proverbsaday #christianinspiration
