Seasons in Life

Ecclesiastes 3:1

Time for Everything

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:

In ancient times, people did not have clocks like we do now. Instead, they relied on celestial bodies such as the sun, moon, and stars to tell the time of day, month, and year. Astrology was used to understand the movements of these celestial bodies, but not in a mystical way. For example, people would ask for someone’s zodiac sign to understand which time of the year they were born in. However, predicting someone’s character or future events through astrology is not biblically sound.

The Bible teaches us to align our actions with God’s will and strive for holiness. In practical terms, people such as fishermen, voyagers, and farmers use the phases of the moon to determine the best time for fishing, traveling, or planting seeds. As the moon affects the tide of the sea, people rely on its phases to guide them in their work. Many cultures, especially Jewish people, use the moon’s phases as their calendar to worship God throughout the year. Therefore, these moon phases not only determine festivities but also serve as a way to stay connected to God in every season of life, both spiritually and practically.

Matthew 24

Signs of the End of the Age

7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.

It is important to note that what follows is not meant to scare anyone, but rather to shed light on something that may seem obvious, but which we may have chosen to ignore because we are so busy with work and other things. We are currently experiencing a time of great turmoil and hardship, a time that is often referred to as the season of “Birth Pains.” It is a time when we must turn our hearts to God, repent of our sins, and live according to His Word. Today is the day to seek His grace and mercy. Let us not miss this opportunity to draw closer to Him.
