Proverbs 11:12

Whoever belittles his neighbor lacks sense, but a man of understanding remains silent.

Have you ever experienced being the subject of gossip, ridicule, embarrassment, or being targeted by people you don't know who try to cancel you? It's a terrible feeling to be falsely accused by people who have been misguided by someone else and have not even bothered to hear your side of the story. The Bible describes such people as lacking sense.

It's completely unfair to be treated this way. But God instructs us on how to deal with such situations and people - by being silent. However, being silent doesn't mean doing nothing. It means allowing them to expose themselves more and making people aware of their behavior. Being silent is not a passive response, but an active one that recognizes the power of people's words.

I remember seeing an interview with a beautiful Hollywood star who was asked how she deals with her critics and false accusations. She responded eloquently, "I give the power to words. If I don't understand the language, it doesn't affect me."

According to Jesus' words, "My sheep know my voice." If we are followers of Jesus, we know how he speaks. He uses words of peace and builds others up. He chooses language that saves, rather than destroys, kills, or lies. The devil, on the other hand, is the father of lies, and that's where people who speak negatively about others get their words from. Therefore, it's best to move forward and be silent. Vengeance is the Lord's. #proverbsaday #christianinspiration
