Red Flags

PROVERBS 15:7

The lips of the wise spread knowledge;not so the hearts of fools.

Do you know how to identify red flags? We encounter different people every day, and often we are not very selective about the people we associate with. However, it's important to be aware that sin can be attractive and fun to be around, making it hard to resist their stories and lures. But if you notice someone talking badly about others behind their backs, it's a clear red flag that they will likely talk about you too. Such people are not good company to keep.

There's a saying that goes, "average people talk about other people, brilliant people talk about ideas." Wise people spread knowledge, not gossip or rumors. In the Bible, the word "heart" means emotions, words, and feelings. Fools tend to speak their minds without thinking, but the wise are more discerning. It's important to remember that we become who we associate with, what we listen to, and what we watch. However, we don't have to let these things define us.

God commands us to meditate on His words day and night. Reading His scriptures is a great way to learn more about Him and His wisdom. If you're not sure how to get started, seek out people who can encourage and guide you towards God's knowledge and wisdom. God's word is not boring; it's full of adventure and leads to life. In contrast, sin and perverse talk lead to death. Therefore, let us pray that God leads us to good people and find ourselves a Bible-believing church where Christ is at the center. May God bless everyone.
